Warm Down - Deep Squat Stretch

Keeping the chest as high and open as possible, come down into a low squat with the backside between the hips. Take deep breaths in this position. For a hip stretch, use the elbows to gently press against the knees. To challenge balance, bring the arms straight up to the sky.

Backpack Course

Everyone has a backpack, in space try to hold it above head and do exercises like squat down/ sit down and stand up, holding it above the head, then try balancing on one leg while holding it above the head. Can create a relay where everyone lines up, have to pass the backpack over the head to the next person, the person at the end has to put it on, jump to the end of the room and back, and then join the end of the line and pass it over head along the line again.

Ballerina on Board (Adapted Pirate ship)

All participants are scattered in the playing area. The Leader tells the participants that they are now on stage in the theatre and need to put together a show.
  • To the audience – Run to the right
  • Backstage – To the left
  • Pirouettes – Most graceful spin you can
  • Point shoes on – run on tip toes on the spot
  • Take a bow – Deepest curtsey you can
  • Partner Balance – Grab a partner and create a paired balance
  • Oh I’m exhausted – Lie down

Balloon Boxing

Tie a piece of elastic or similar (ribbon, string etc) to the balloon. Tie the other end around a particpants head. Continue to box the balloon whilst moving around and avoiding others. Try and do a left step with a left handed box and a right step with a right handed box.

Balloon Egg and Spoon

Each participant puts the end of the balloon in their mouth and run to a point then run back. Can shuffle on a towel to make it harder.
