Ballet Finisher & Lying Pilates Stretching
Plie challenge, everyone in circle, go round see who can make the deepest plie. Then who can balance on one leg with arms in air. Stay in circle and encourage interaction between. See if everyone can hold hands and stretch each leg behind them one at a time.
Come to lying down hug the knees, point and flex the feet, releases lower back and helps as part of cool down. Leg uncurls and lifts, point and flex the foot and alternate legs (build a rhythm, encourage pointed toes and lowering slowly as though a ballet movement. Side lying leg lifts (as in pilates) which open the hips and warm up the lower body, again bending the knee and uncurling to make it appear more graceful and balletic.
Straddle, Pike, and Flower stretches for the legs before slowly getting back up, deep breathing and giving everything a shake.
